LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents:
We are asking for everybody's help and cooperation in not buying any items from the vendors outside our gates at dismissal time. All the vendors are blocking
our sidewalks and selling snacks that are not healthy or nutritious for your child. Also, please remind your child not to buy any items from any of these vendors
and do not give your child any money to purchase items from the vendors. Thank you.
Also, please always remember that your support and involvement in your child's education are extremely important to their success. Your participation and
encouragement does make a vital and positive impact on their academic achievement!!! -- WORKING TOGETHER, WE WILL BE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH THE MOST FOR OUR CHILDREN!!!
KINDERGARTEN AND SRLDP (PRE-KINDERGARTEN)
ENROLLMENT FORMS FOR 2008 - 2009
AVAILABLE NOW
Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten (SRLDP) enrollment packets for the 2008 - 2009 school year are now available in the Main Office.
In order to enroll in Kindergarten or SRLDP (School Readiness Language Development Program), you must live within our school's attendance
area. We will also need proof of address with every enrollment packet. We will accept a current utility bill with the name of the parent or guardian for
proof of residence.
Pursuant to current law, all new kindergarten enrollees must be at least five (5) years old on or before December 2, 2008. To enroll in the
SRLDP program, your child must be at least four (4) on or before December 2, 2008. We will need proof of age and we will accept a Birth
Certificate, Passport, Baptism Certificate or Hospital Certificate of Birth. If you need to pick up an enrollment packet, please come to the Main Office.
If you have any questions, please call the school at (323) 660-1936.
SCHOOL UNIFORMS
Please help us by making sure that students are wearing their school uniforms. Our Uniform Policy is that students should wear pants, shorts, jumpers or skirts that are
dark blue and wear collar shirts or blouses that are white. NO JEANS, NO ÔBAGGYÕ PANTS OR OVERSIZED, INAPPROPRIATE CLOTHES AT ANY TIME. Uniforms
will be sold afterschool on a Wednesday once a month. Additional information will be sent home at a later date.
SAFETY ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL,
AT SCHOOL AND GOING HOME FROM SCHOOL
Thank you for helping to make the delivery and pickup of students at the Alexandria and Oakwood gates safe for all students.
PLEASE DO NOT DOUBLE PARK OR STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET TO LET CHILDREN OUT, ESPECIALLY WITH CROSS TRAFFIC. We want every
child to be safe and to cross the street at the crosswalks, not the middle of the street.
Please remind your child that NO TOYS of any kind -- toy guns, playstations, electronic games, card games, Gameboys, Sony PSP's, Nintendo DS's, music players or
any other distractions -- should be brought to school. These items are NOT allowed at school either before, during or after school!!!
Also, please discuss with your child that all students at Alexandria are expected to act safely, respectfully and responsibly to each other, to all teachers and
to all staff members at all times.
LOST AND FOUND ITEMS
Lost & Found garments are located in the Main Building hallway near the Main Office. Any clothing items not claimed by the
end of the each month will be donated to Goodwill. Please remember to mark all your child's clothing with their name to allow easier
identification. Thank you.
ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT TO LEARNING.
BE AT SCHOOL EVERYDAY.
IF YOU ARE ABSENT, PLEASE BRING A NOTE.
Students may come in late with a doctor note or
