LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents:
We will continue with the Red Ribbon Campaign this week in presenting a united and visible commitment toward a creation of a DRUG-FREE AMERICA! On Tuesday,
October 28th, we are asking everybody to wear something red in support of staying Drug-Free and Alcohol-Free!
On Friday, October 31st, we will be hold our annual Halloween Parade on our school playground from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. We will be giving prizes for the
"Funniest," the "Most Creative," and the "scariest." If you would like your child to participate in the parade, please send your child's costume in a bag.
They may change into their costumes just before the parade. Please remember that students should NOT bring any toy weapons, swords, sharp objects or other
dangerous objects. We would also like to invite all parents to come and watch the parade.
If you do not wish for your child to participate in the parade, please let your child's teacher know. We will provide an alternative activity for your child
that will be supervised by school staff.
Also, we wish a safe Halloween for you and your family. As you go trick-or-treating this week, please keep these safety tips in mind:
Check all candies for anything suspicious and don't eat any unwrapped treats.
Carry a flashlight and turn it on as you carefully cross any streets or driveways.
Wear costumes that are easy to walk in and make sure that the costume can be seen very easily at night.
Wear face make-up instead of a mask. You would be able to see around you easier.
Never go out alone. Go trick-or-treating with a large group. It's more fun!
Don't carry a toy gun or knife, especially to school.
Please always remember that your support and involvement in your child's education are extremely important to their success. Your participation and
encouragement does make a vital and positive impact on their academic achievement!!! -- WORKING TOGETHER, WE WILL BE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH THE MOST FOR OUR CHILDREN!!!

dark blue and wear collar shirts or blouses that are white. NO JEANS, NO ÔBAGGYÕ PANTS OR OVERSIZED, INAPPROPRIATE CLOTHES AT ANY TIME. Uniforms
will be sold afterschool on a Wednesday once a month. Additional information will be sent home at a later date.
SAFETY ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL,
AT SCHOOL AND GOING HOME FROM SCHOOL
Thank you for helping to make the delivery and pickup of students at the Alexandria and Oakwood gates safe for all students.
PLEASE DO NOT DOUBLE PARK OR STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET TO LET CHILDREN OUT, ESPECIALLY WITH CROSS TRAFFIC. We want every
child to be safe and to cross the street at the crosswalks, not the middle of the street.
Please remind your child that NO TOYS of any kind -- toy guns, playstations, electronic games, card games, Gameboys, Sony PSP's, Nintendo DS's, music players or
any other distractions -- should be brought to school. These items are NOT allowed at school either before, during or after school!!!
Also, please discuss with your child that all students at Alexandria are expected to act safely, respectfully and responsibly to each other, to all teachers and
to all staff members at all times.
LOST AND FOUND ITEMS
Lost & Found garments are located in the Main Building hallway near the Main Office. Any clothing items not claimed by the
end of the each month will be donated to Goodwill. Please remember to mark all your child's clothing with their name to allow easier
identification. Thank you.
ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT TO LEARNING.
BE AT SCHOOL EVERYDAY.
IF YOU ARE ABSENT, PLEASE BRING A NOTE.
Students may come in late with a doctor note or
