| This is my 20th year teaching in the Los Angeles Unified School District. I am currently serving as an ITAF (Instructional Technology Applications Facilitator) in Local District 3. I value the use of technology with students because it is a motivating and efficient way for students to learn, as well as a way to provide impressive evidence of their learning. I encourage all teachers and administrators to use technology as an empowering way to work and improve student achievement.
My responsibilites have in the past included conducting training sessions for groups of teachers at school sites, doing demonstration technology lessons for students using a variety of software, training technologists and other lead teachers in the use of technology, as well as maintaining and updating hardware and software. Based on a school's need, I have made recommendations on hardware and software purchases that best serve the needs of students. I have helped design and conduct professional development courses for schools to conduct on their own.I also spend time developing software tools for teacher use, especially the development of my learning and assessment software entitled "Mr. Anker Tests", now accessible via the Web.
